Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and OURVOW PROJECT, a French SASU, registered office: Route de Béline, 97190 Le Gosier, Guadeloupe, France, SIREN 104 302 468 ("OurVow", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using OurVow, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use OurVow.

1. The service

OurVow is a daily ritual for couples: a question each morning, answered privately by each spouse and revealed to both once both have answered, and a short devotional grounded in Scripture. Some features require a subscription (§ 5).

2. Who can use OurVow

You must be at least 18 years old. OurVow is designed for married and engaged couples. You may have only one account, and you are responsible for keeping access to your email address secure, since that is how you sign in.

3. Not a substitute for professional help

OurVow is a tool for reflection, conversation and prayer. It is not therapy, counseling, medical advice or pastoral care, and it does not replace them. If you or someone you love is in danger, call 911. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, United States). If you are experiencing abuse, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233.

4. Your words belong to you

Everything you write in OurVow remains yours. You give us only the limited permission we need to store it, protect it, and show it to your spouse under the rules of the reveal, and to delete it when you ask. We do not sell it, publish it, or use it to train artificial intelligence.

Please use OurVow respectfully: no content that is illegal, threatening or harassing, no impersonation, no attempt to access another person's account or to disrupt the service.

5. Subscriptions

  • Free access: you can use OurVow for free, with a limited number of reveals each week and the day's verse as the devotional.
  • Premium unlocks unlimited reveals and the full devotional. One subscription covers your couple: when one spouse subscribes, both have Premium.
  • Free trial: new subscribers may be offered a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts into a paid subscription.
  • Automatic renewal: subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play, at the price shown before you confirm. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your Apple or Google account settings; access continues until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription: please cancel it in your store settings.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. We cannot issue refunds for store purchases.
  • Access provided by your church: if your church offers you a program, your couple receives Premium access for the period of that program, without payment information. When it ends, you keep all your pages, streaks and history, and you may continue for free or subscribe.
  • Changes in price are announced in advance by the store, as its rules require.

6. Scripture

Unless otherwise noted, Scripture quotations are from The Holy Bible, Berean Standard Bible, BSB, produced in cooperation with Bible Hub, Discovery Bible, OpenBible.com, and the Berean Bible Translation Committee. This text of God's Word has been dedicated to the public domain.

The rest of OurVow — its questions, devotionals, design, name and logo — belongs to OurVow and is protected by intellectual property law. OURVOW is a trademark of OURVOW PROJECT.

7. Legal proceedings

Content stored in OurVow, including your answers, may be requested in legal proceedings (for example divorce or civil litigation) and we may be required by law to provide it. We will only disclose data when legally obliged to. If you anticipate legal proceedings, consider seeking legal advice before writing in OurVow.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Your answers are hidden immediately, including from your spouse, and permanently deleted after 30 days (see our Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, after warning you when possible.

9. Our responsibility

We work hard to keep OurVow available, safe and private, but it is provided "as is" and may occasionally be interrupted. To the fullest extent permitted by law, OurVow is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for OurVow in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, or your rights as a consumer.

10. Apple App Store

If you downloaded OurVow from the Apple App Store: these terms are between you and OurVow, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for OurVow or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for any claims relating to OurVow (including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims). If OurVow fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on a U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law, without depriving you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country or state where you live. Before any formal claim, please contact us at support@joinourvow.com: most concerns can be resolved quickly and informally. If we cannot resolve a dispute within 60 days, either of us may bring it before the competent courts; if you are a consumer, you may also bring it before the courts where you live.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. For important changes, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using OurVow afterwards, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you may delete your account.
